2022年第79届金球奖的提名于周一揭晓，提名的作品和业内人士代表了这一年的电视和电影领域的最佳成就。
提名名单由说唱歌手Snoop Dogg宣布，电影"The Power of the Dog"（《犬之力》 ）和 "Belfast"领衔电影提名，分别获得七项提名。HBO电视剧"Succession" 获得了最多的电视剧提名，有5项，紧随其后的是苹果公司的"Ted Lasso" 和 "The Morning Show" ，各获得4项提名。今年大热的韩国电视剧《鱿鱼游戏》也获得了最佳男演员和最佳剧情电视剧的提名。
由于该活动背后的好莱坞外国新闻协会 (HFPA) 内部存在多元化问题，包括之前播放过金球奖的 NBC 在内的多家媒体合作伙伴今年选择不公开参加颁奖典礼。
